Like a Palette

Jane begins university hoping for a quiet and uncomplicated life, but her plans quickly unravel when she catches the attention of Dai, the former university star and a senior whose unreadable stares seem anything but friendly. To Jane’s confusion, Dai constantly appears around her, watching her with an intensity that feels strangely personal. Things become even more complicated after Jane is chosen as this year’s Faculty of Fine Arts Star. Since Dai, as last year’s university star, is assigned to mentor the new stars, the two are forced into frequent encounters. Yet instead of hostility, Dai keeps doing unexpectedly thoughtful things—smiling at Jane, peeling shrimp for her, buying her snacks, and even blushing around her. Completely oblivious to the real reason behind Dai’s behavior, Jane convinces herself she already knows the truth. After all, she has watched enough dramas to understand one thing: when a girl looks at another girl like that, it can only mean she absolutely cannot stand her.
